1950's proof set information
After being discontinued in 1942 during World War II, the United States Proof set made a reappearance in 1950. All proof sets from the 1950's contain five pieces: the Lincoln cent, Jefferson nickel, Roosevelt dime, Washington quarter, and Franklin half dollar. The dime, quarter and half dollar were struck in silver. In 1959, the reverse of the Lincoln cent was changed from the wheat ears design to the Lincoln Memorial.
